If you’re thinking of skiing in Switzerland, Grindelwald Wengen Ski Resort is always an excellent choice! This incredible ski resort is part of the wonderful Jungfrau Ski Region.

Skiing in Grindelwald Wengen is the perfect combination of classic Swiss Alps features and the resort is perfectly suitable for any type and age of skier and snowboarder. So, you won’t go wrong if you’re travelling with friends or the family!

Why go skiing in Grindelwald Wengen?

? Known for having one of the most wonderful mountain scenery in Europe.

? Super modern and efficient lift system.

? The terrain is perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders.

? Incredible off-piste areas around Lauberhorn and Männlichen.

? Great learn-to-ski area in Wengen

? The ideal ski destination for a family holiday

Grindelwald - Wengen Ski Area Overview:

Ski Slopes: 103 km of runs for all levels and ages.

Number of lifts: 21 (and that includes railway service, cable-cars and chairlifts).

Altitude: 1.034 mts - 2.227 mts

Is Grindelwald Wengen good for beginners?

Both Grindelwald and Wengen are excellent ski areas for beginners. The best beginner ski areas are:

  • Männichen Ski Area

The beginner ski area here is for children and is called Männlichen Children’s Paradise. Here there’s a magic carpet and two “Pinocchio” lifts where the kids that have already skied before can gain some confidence before hitting the slopes.

  • Kleine Scheidegg Ski Area

This area is more suitable for adults or teenagers that have never skied before.

There’s also a beginners’ ski area in Wengen town centre and another one in Grindelwald town:

? The one in Wengen is called Figeler and it’s probably the best beginner ski area as it has different levels: there’s a kids area, a small flat hit great for adults and teenagers and there’s also a steeper hill that is great to get some practice done before hitting longer slopes.

? The one in Grindelwald is called Bodmi Arena and it’s perfect for complete beginners as the terrain is quite flat. Keep in mind that there isn’t always enough snow in this area and as it’s in the town, it’s usually quite crowded.

Hotels if you ski in Grindelwald Wengen with Esquiades.com

On our website you’ll find a great selection of hotels located in Grindelwald, Wengen and Interlaken.

Our recommendation is to book one of our ski deals that include a hotel in Wengen. Wengen is a small car-free village and its scenery is absolutely out of this world! As your ski pass includes access on the railway service, you can move around the ski resort super easily. So, if you’re looking for a totally hassle-free ski holiday in Switzerland, this is definitely the way to go.

How to get to Grindelwald Wengen:

On Esquiades.com you’ll find that all of our ski holidays include the accommodation and ski pass and you can add ski extras such as ski insurance or equipment rental. The transportation isn’t included which works out better for our customers as we can be super flexible with the booking dates and holiday durations.

By Plane

The nearest international airport to either Grindelwald and Wengen is Zurich from where you can take a train that will take around 3 hours. Another airport that is quite convenient is Bern from where there are direct trains to Interlaken Ost where you need to switch trains for the Lauterbrannen.

By Car

If you’re booking a hotel in Grindelwald or Interlaken, you can reach either of them by car. Don’t forget that if you book a hotel in Wengen, this village is totally pedestrian so you won’t be able to access it by car.

By Train

This is the best means of communication in Switzerland. The railway service is modern, efficient and always on time. As your ski pass includes access on the railway service of Grindelwald and Wengen, this is probably the best way to get around during your ski holiday.
