Saturday today in Sierra Nevada is sunny and with low temperatures.
The small snowfall that fell on Friday night has left about 10 centimeters of snow that has allowed to open the Granada ski resort with almost 50 skiable kilometers with slightly renovated slopes.
The snow, which fell especially in high to medium altitudes, was not enough to renew the parts more directly on the slopes of the ski resort. In fact, Sierra Nevada officials warned today caution in the final stretch of the Rio track, as well as the lack of snow in the lower area of the chairlift Jara.
However, today the day has started with sunshine and low temperatures, which will allow us to enjoy a good weekend. However, what will not be possible is night skiing, since Cetursa has preferred to suspend it while the conditions of the final section of the El Río slope continue to be complicated.
For next week a new change in the weather is expected, which will bring lower temperatures, and probably a new snowfall that will allow us to face the end of the February holidays in better conditions.
While this change of weather arrives, and taking advantage of the fact that today the temperatures are negative, the snow production system is being put into operation in order to consolidate the open slopes.
Negative temperatures allow to start snow production in Sierra Nevada.
Fair but possible deadlines for the new gondola lift that should connect the village of Benasque with the ski slopes of Cerler. If all goes well, the manufacturer will be awarded this summer, and in autumn they will start working for December 2025 to be able to release it.
