The Candanchú resort is already facing the beginning of the ski season, and continues with its project to improve their facilities with important investments, especially focused on their snow production system, which are extended by 30%. "This year, we have focused on the low levels of the resort, to get the maximum number of ski days and be able to offer the best possible conditions to our customers," says David Dumall, director of the winter resort.
In this sense, we highlight the investment destined to the grooming machines park, so a part of the machines have been renewed, and to the acquisition of a series of last generation cannons that produce artificial snow, that are more efficient and with a produce more snow than before, located in the lower part of the resort. There has also been a renovation of the signaling of the tracks.
Enabling two new ski slopes is another great news of the season. In the area of Pista Grande will be located 'El Buco' (blue) and 'Ciudad de piedra' (green). With these, the Candanchú resort will have a total of 51 tracks of all levels so that users with different skills can enjoy this practice. As for the snowpark, the resort will enable an area in the Tuca Blanca for freestyle fans, which will be composed of several modules and jumps.
The accessibility and organisation of the 'Pista Grande' parking area will be another of the points to improve. Signalling will be installed to allow and enable a single lane where vehicles will be able to get to the lockers, leaving the entrance area to the resort. In this way, the bus that runs from Candanchú and the Aísa Town Hall will see their communication with the facilities improved.
Regarding technology, a mobile application will be developed for smartphones, which can be downloaded at the beginning of the ski season and will allow to know the most important information of the resort. With this app, users will be able to track down the kilometres and elevation gain that they do, check the weather forecast, the snow condition and interact with other users by participating in different challenges tacking into account the kilometres done, time, ...
Regarding service improvement, Candanchú will offer the possibility to use heated ski lifts at the foot of the track and daytime slogans to leave the your the equipment. In addition, this option will allow you to store it during the whole season, a perfect solution for those who do not have a residence near the Aragon Valley.
Fair but possible deadlines for the new gondola lift that should connect the village of Benasque with the ski slopes of Cerler. If all goes well, the manufacturer will be awarded this summer, and in autumn they will start working for December 2025 to be able to release it.
