The Espot ski resort has been closed throughout the weekend due to a breakdown in the La Roca chairlift , the only one with which the resort can be accessed. According to the statement issued by the resort, it was detected that one of the ski lift seats had come off the cable and, as a precaution, it was decided to stop the device.
Because of this incident, a technical file has been opened to find out the cause, but it is unknown at this time when the winter complex will be able to reopen its doors.
According to those responsible for the resort, during the routine maintenance tasks on Friday, a chair, specifically the number 51, detached itself from the cable in the area of the Mosquera ravine. The resort immediately opened a technical file to find out the cause of the incident and closed the ski lift for safety until it is completely repaired.
The chairlift of La Roca is a unique model in the world and, although they were built and installed in other resorts, the truth is that it is currently the only one that is still in operation. There are currently no spare parts in series and must be manufactured expressly. This is precisely one of the problems that could affect its reopening.

Fair but possible deadlines for the new gondola lift that should connect the village of Benasque with the ski slopes of Cerler. If all goes well, the manufacturer will be awarded this summer, and in autumn they will start working for December 2025 to be able to release it.
and be the first to receive great ski deals!
