Pal Arinsal
Grandvalira Resorts have closed the first week of the season, coinciding with the Immaculate Conception long weekend, meeting the expectations set. Since the beginning of the season, the three ski areas have reached 60,143 ski days sold, distributed as follows:
Friday December 8 was the day with the most visitors, during which 14,662 skiers enjoyed the resorts, although Thursday December 7 and Saturday December 9 had very similar figures, always above 14,000 visitors.
Despite not having been able to operate at full capacity due to the weather conditions that have affected southern Europe, Grandvalira Resorts have been able to guarantee one of the best ski deals in the Pyrenees, with about 50 km skiable in Grandvalira and 25 kilometers of slopes in Pal Arinsal.
In Ordino Arcalís, 16 kilometers were opened after being able to bring forward the opening date by one week, starting the season last Friday, November 24, while the Pas de la Casa ski area of Grandvalira opened on December 5. The ski areas of Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo, Grau Roig and Encamp, and the resort of Pal Arinsal started on Wednesday December 6 to welcome all visitors who have come to Andorra eager for snow. In this sense, hotel occupancy in the country during the long weekend has been positive, reaching figures of between 70% and 95%.
Grandvalira was able to open about 50 km per day
L'Abarset, one of the après-ski venues of reference in the Pyrenees, has opened the season with an excellent reception of the proposals prepared for the various days of the long weekend. The first Brunch Electronik of the winter brought to the snow NTO Live, Pole Position, Isa Rojas and Edu_Art, which had been sold-out for days. Saturday's party with the Swiss Animal Trainer, Los Suruba, and Noe Osses was also sold out.
For its part, the CBbC Costa Rodona had the performance of the well-known producer from Madrid, DJ Nano in a day that was also a complete success.
The activities offered by Grandvalira Resorts from the different resorts have been very well received these days, where they have taken special prominence and have confirmed that the experience in the ski area goes far beyond skiing.
The terraces of the ski areas have enjoyed a great atmosphere and very good affluence and visitors have been able to enjoy different activations and live DJ. They have highlighted the new San Miguel terrace, a 300 m2 space at the base of the Pas de la Casa ski area, which is one of the novelties of the season, as well as the IQOS Terrace in the El Tarter ski area, which has inaugurated the terrace with the best saxophonists and trumpet players live, or the Coll de la Botella in Pal, and the Restaurant La Coma in Ordino Arcalís.
Alternative sports to skiing, such as skimo and snowshoeing, have also seen an increase in demand these days and it has been possible to go on excursions around the different resorts. It is worth remembering that Grandvalira Resorts invests every year in the habilitation of new kilometers and the creation of new circuits for the practice of these sports in a safe way. The Mirador Solar de Tristaina, in Ordino Arcalís, has also opened and can be visited by trekking.
The Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo, for its part, has been operational since Wednesday with all its activities, offering an ideal space for families and beginner skiers, as well as adventurers who want to enjoy the adrenaline provided by attractions such as the Màgic Gliss mountain slide and the zip line.
