The snowfall of the last days, especially on Thursday and Friday, with a height that plummeted from 1,800 m to the valley of the Cerdanya, the snow line fell below 1,000 meters thanks to the severe cold. Low temperatures have accompanied skiers all this weekend.
Sunday at 8 o'clock at night snow again and the forecast with this squall located in the Mediterranean is that it can still do so during Monday and Tuesday.
This will result in an unbeatable start of March, with temperatures below normal for the season throughout this first week of March.
Masella ski slope
The snow is of quality thanks to the low temperatures and the dry environment that keeps it powdery throughout the ski areaand with a weather marked by the cold and the sun, which has been especially protagonist during this Sunday.
Skiers who enjoyed night skiing on Saturday night also enjoyed optimal conditions and were surprised by a persistent, weak to moderate snowfall.
The good condition of the slopes also allowed skiers to fully enjoy all the black slopes of the Isards - El Tub ski area, slopes that made expert skiers enjoy.
At this moment, the Ceretan resort has 100% of the skiable slope operational, with 935 m of vertical drop, from the top of the Tosa - 2,535 m to the Pla de Masella - 1,600 m. In addition, all the bases of the resort are open, i.e., La Pia - 1,700m, Pla de Masella - 1,600m and Coma Oriola - 1,950m.
Current state of the slopes and facilities:
- Slopes: 64 slopes totaling 68 skiable km.
- Ski Areas: 9 open ski areas (Pla de Masella, Bosc d'Alp, Cap del Bosc, Coma Oriola, Coma Pregona, La Pleta, La Pia, Dues Estacions, la Tosa and Isards - el Tub).
- Lifts: 14 open, including the 5 chairlifts of Coma Oriola, Jumbo Tosa, Masella Jet, La Pia Express and TGV.
- Piste access: Coma Oriola, La Pia and Pla de Masella.
- Thickness: 45 to 85 cm of powder quality.
- Alp 2500 connection, to link Masella + La Molina is open to the public.
Ski slopes of Masella
Taking advantage of these good conditions, the Masella resort will put on sale the Spring Season Ticket on the first day of March.
The price of this season ticket for skiing in Masella is 245€ and can be amortized in only 5 days. This pass allows you to ski every day until the end of the season. In addition, with the purchase of the pass are included free Ski Passes and discounted Ski Passes for other ski resorts. For those over 75 years old and under 6 years old, the Masella ski pass has a cost of 80 €.
Also from March 6, holders of the Working and Non-Saturday season ticket will be able to ski every day, including weekends and holidays. The Evening Season Ticket holders will be able to ski all day.
Fair but possible deadlines for the new gondola lift that should connect the village of Benasque with the ski slopes of Cerler. If all goes well, the manufacturer will be awarded this summer, and in autumn they will start working for December 2025 to be able to release it.
