The asphalting of the La Rabasta car park opens this winter season 2022-2023 at the Port Ainé ski resort.
The 9,000-square-meter car park with capacity for 290 vehicles has a one-way access road 6 meters wide that will allow the flow of vehicles.
Port Ainé is part of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) group and has three other car park areas at elevation 2000 which, together with the car park lot at elevation 1600, add up to a total of some 1,240 spaces.
The work on the car park platform has been carried out using bioengineering techniques to respect the environment as much as possible and ensure the landscape integration of the action.
The area consists of two levels, making it compatible with the slope and unevenness of the mountain.
In the central part, the natural terrain of trees that separates the two levels of the car park has been safeguarded.
In this space, five wooden totem poles have also been installed with recreations of the most representative fauna of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park.
The work of the sculptor Aarón Pérez Silva, the sculptures have been created with the aim of giving a use to the trees that did not meet the requirements to be used for the containment of the walls or the delimitation of the railings.
A staircase has also been installed that connects the lower level of the La Rabasta car park with that of Roní.
In addition, skiers or snowboarders from the upper part of the La Rabasta car park will be able to access the service area at level 2000 with their skis on.
Another important action is the rearrangement of the car parks, with the delimitation and relocation of the spaces for coaches, motorhomes and vehicles for people with reduced mobility, which will allow better and more comfortable access to the slopes.
Along these lines, some 40 places for motorhomes have been allocated in two areas adjacent to the Roní car park and very close to the access stairs to the intermediate resort of the Roní chairlift.
Car Park spaces for coaches will also be allocated after the area where the motorhomes will be located.
The spaces for vehicles for people with reduced mobility in the La Font de cota 2000 car park have been expanded and redefined, to guarantee better accessibility in the service area.
At elevation 1650, 2 electric charging points have been placed that will allow the charging of up to 4 vehicles.
Finally, maintenance has been carried out on the arrival road at level 2,000, as well as the remodeling of the two curves before this level, which will improve accessibility at the resort.
Fair but possible deadlines for the new gondola lift that should connect the village of Benasque with the ski slopes of Cerler. If all goes well, the manufacturer will be awarded this summer, and in autumn they will start working for December 2025 to be able to release it.
