Snowfall leaves 1 meter of extra snow at Formigal
The ski resorts of the Aragon Pyrenees face the month of February with very optimistic perspectives after the first important snowfall of this season. The episode of precipitations began on Friday, and has been prolonged throughout the weekend. Forecasts indicate that snow will continue to fall for a few more hours.
In Formigal the snow has so far left an extra meter of snow in the middle to high altitudes, which is allowing a progressive expansion of more slopes for this week of Carnival. At the moment the ski resort of Valle de Tena has opened today up to 57 skiable kilometers, to which must be added the 7 of Panticosa.
Data from the automatic telenivometer that the AEMET has in the Valle de las Izas.
For its part in Cerler the image has changed radically, with thicknesses that already reach half a meter of snow and 29 kilometers of slopes that will be expanded in the coming hours as the snow that has fallen these hours is stepped on. The skiable offer is divided between the Molino and Ampriu ski areas.
The snowfall allows Cerler to consider its skiable offer.
Formigal will reach 60km next week.
Fair but possible deadlines for the new gondola lift that should connect the village of Benasque with the ski slopes of Cerler. If all goes well, the manufacturer will be awarded this summer, and in autumn they will start working for December 2025 to be able to release it.
