The Tignes ski resort postponed its opening due to the snow conditions and the intense summer heat, which melted the snow and only ice remained. Therefore, the winter resort has announced the partial opening of the Grand Motte glacier on October 19 ; always according to the weather of the following days.
The decision has been made to open on that date thanks to the light snowfall that has been falling these last 10 days.
The opening of this glacier is used by snow lovers and ski clubs. Snow conditions are still deficient and the glacier is examined daily. The resort has announced that the entire domain of the glacier will not be accessible and that it will be reserved for skiers of good level.
Snowfall is expected in the glacier area in the coming days. They can accumulate up to 60 cm in the next 7 days. The objective is to have the entire domain of Tignes and Val d'Isère open on November 30. Will it be possible?
