Information about Tignes

"The most beautiful space in the world". That is the slogan of the Tignes resort, and although it may seem exaggerated, it can highlight and be proud of the virtues of its slopes. With 10,000 hectares of surface (5 times the surface of the big Spanish resorts), 300 skiable km, 1,906 km of vertical drop and 2 glaciers located at more than 3,000 m of altitude.

 

 

 

Why ski in Tignes?

 

These two ski resorts in the French Alps are considered one of the best resorts for all levels of skiing or snowboarding. If you are a beginner, you are in luck, as you can take numerous free lifts throughout the ski area, as well as a large area of green slopes. Exactly 21 green runs located in the high zone of the ski area at more than 2,400 m of altitude, a difference that makes it stand out among the other resorts.

 

In case you are an experienced skier, the resorts of Tignes and Val d'Isère offer 67 blue runs, 43 red runs and 24 black runs. You can also enjoy the countless off-piste options offered by the 10,000 skiable hectares. You can even practice heli-skiing, a practice that consists of going up in a helicopter, looking for a hill to land on and then descending the virgin slopes.

 

Currently, no ski pass is required for ski mountaineering in Tignes and Val d'Isère (as long as you don't use any chairlifts or other lifts).

 

On the other hand, this winter resort has 800 snow cannons, 42 chairlifts, 9 gondolas and 2 funiculars. There is no excuse for missing out on a ski weekend. In addition, Tignes and Val d'Isère offers a unique skiing or snowboarding experience with World Cup slopes and hosting competitions such as Winter X Games Europe, an event for those who love freestyle.

 

To end this perfect day of skiing Tignes and Val d'Isère offers an incredible après-ski. And the nightlife in Tignes enjoys a young and international audience with live music venues and several nightclubs.
