La Massana, Thursday, June 13, 2024=.- Pal Arinsal will kick off the summer season this weekend with the Maxiavalanche, an international mass start race that this year expects to gather around 500 particitrousers. The competition will officially kick off this Saturday, June 15, with the qualifying practice sessions for the finals of the various categories, which will be held on Sunday from 11 am. Tomorrow, Friday, the Bike Park of Pal Arinsal will start the summer season, allowing the Maxiavalanche track to be available for free training, as well as the rest of the more than 60 km of MTB circuits. During the weekend, the Maxiavalanche track will be closed to the general public for the exclusive use of the competition. The start of the race will be from the Pic del Cubil, going down the Maxiavalanche circuit until reaching the village of La Massana, with a total elevation gain of 900 meters. The competition will again feature several categories, including MAXI Elite, e-bike or female. Nearly a hundred children will be added to participate in the Mega Kids Commencal race on Saturday, a day when the Dual Slalom races will also take place, an elimination competition in which two riders compete simultaneously on identical and parallel circuits.
Pal Arinsal, a reference cycling destination
The mountain resort of Pal Arinsal has positioned itself as an ideal destination for cyclists, offering not only the possibility to practice this sport, but also to attend some of the most important cycling events in the world during the summer months. This year, the La Massana resort will host the UCI MTB World Championships, which will bring together the world's best riders from August 26 to September 1, making it once again the world's MTB epicenter. In addition, the resort will be a prominent part of the Epic Series stages, which will take place from July 3 to 6.
