5.9 million euros of investment in Vallter 2000

The Ferrocarrils group of the Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) has informed of an agreement with the municipality of Setcases, through which all the necessary procedures that should allow the investment of 5.9 million euros planned in the ski resort Vallter 2000 until 2021.

This investment plan has already been approved by FGC through the Program Contract signed with the Generalitat, which is valid for the 2017-2021 period. The Catalan entity linked this investment plan to an extension of the concession of the Vallter 2000 facilities , which expired in 2024. In this way, the new management period, which is now until 2036, allows you to amortize the expenses that the Catalan entity.

Among the actions are contemplated an improvement of facilities, as well as the expansion of new activities and services . The lack of agreement prevented the investments planned for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons.

As stated by FGC, the planned investment plan is:

«Basic to keep Vallter 2000 as a mountain station aligned with the criteria of quality, safety and attention to the service of FGC and guarantee a solid positioning towards its continuity and the enclave situation within the Natural Park of the Headwaters of the Ter and the Freser ».
