The six ski and mountain resorts of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot Esquí, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll, will open their ski areas this Friday 13/12 and some of them will wait for the next day, the weekend of 14 to 14 December. The opening has been possible thanks to the snowfalls of the last days, to the forecast of more precipitations on Wednesday and Thursday and the low temperatures that will allow the production of snow continuously during the whole week.

The snowfalls of the long weekend have left snow thicknesses of up to 60 cm in some resorts, such as Espot Esquí, Port Ainé and Boi Taüll, although affected by the wind in some areas, also present snow thicknesses of about 20 cm.

Regarding the specific opening date, Espot Esquí, Port Ainé, Boí Taüll and La Molina will open the slopes on Friday 13, while Vallter and Vall de Núria will open on Saturday 14.

The forecast is to open as many trails and facilities as possible , adapting to the weather conditions. The low temperatures and the forecast of new snowfalls will allow to maintain a first quality snow, something that will undoubtedly be appreciated by ski and snowboard lovers.

For winter sports, this opening of the FGC TURISME resorts adds an important incentive to these exploitations that, since the Purísima long weekend, had already launched activities beyond the snow, such as recreational parks and restaurants.
