Baqueira extends 11 more kilometers of skiing with a ski lift in Blanhiblar

1 Proposed routes:
1.1 Technical data TQ Parrós

The project of the new Parros tele-ski and the associated "slopes - itinerary", aim to expand the skiable area of Baqueira Beret, with the connection of the Blanhiblar area (including snowmaking network) with the Cap des Clòsos at 2,418 meters above sea level.

The new routes will be of the type 'track-itinerary', i.e., for their marking and inclusion in the map of the resort, it is not necessary to make earthworks, but only to mark the limits and work it with snow grooming machines. It is also not possible to install a snowmaking system.

A new ski lift seeks to expand Baqueira by Blanhiblar

The advantage on the one hand is the cost reduction by not having to make earthworks, and on the other hand that in summer, once the boundary marking points of between 12 and 20 meters wide, depending on the layout, have been removed, nothing will indicate that a ski slope ski passes through there in winter.

A conventional slope called "Retorno" of about 2.5 kilometres will be created, which requires previous work for its adequacy, and which will also be worked with snow grooming machines.

The Blanhiblar ski area is again being worked on in this way. Inaugurated between 2002 and 2003, it consists of a ski lift and a chairlift. In 2007 it involved a new action to install an artificial snow system. This new project includes 67 additional snowmaking devices.

In order to access the new Parros chairlift, one must take the Blanhiblar chairlift and then the Costarás chairlift. This will allow the area to remain quiet, without so many skiers.

Proposed routes:

The new ski lift will connect elevation 2,079 to Cap des Clòsos, at 2,409 meters above sea level. From this point, three ski trails will be laid out.

In total, 5 itineraries and the return run are proposed, with an approximate length of 10 new skiable kilometres, which would leave the Baqueira ski slope map at about 180 km.

- First: It descends from the arrival point of the tele-ski and flanks the right side of the Arriu d'Esmeligàs valley, up to the exit point of the tele-ski.

Total length: 1,480 meters.
Average slope: 14.2%.
Maximum slope: 40.6%.

- Second: It runs from the tele-ski arrival point and flanks the left side of the Arriu d'Esmeligàs valley, up to the tele-ski departure point.

Total length: 1,576 meters.
Average slope: 16,5%.
Maximum slope: 29,5%.

- Third: Descends from the tele-ski arrival point to the Blanhiblar ski area, connecting with the Barlongueta ski run (elevation 2,147 meters above sea level).

Total length: 1,771 meters.
Average slope: 18.3%.
Maximum slope: 19.8%.

In addition to these three itinerary-tracks, there are two conventional tracks of 1,778 and 1,773 meters respectively, as well as the return slope.

- Return: From the tele-ski exit, it goes down a stretch of the Arriu Barlongueta Valley, and curves towards the Arriu Esmeligàs, crossing the mountain slope passing by several streams. The slope crosses this river through a bridge, and ends on the slope that descends from Blanhiblar at 1,860 meters above sea level, before the bridge that crosses the road to Beret.

Total length: 2,525 meters.
Average slope: 9%.
Maximum slope: 14%.

- Blanhiblar connection: This slope descends from the arrival of the Costarjas tele-ski (2,337 meters above sea level) to the exit of the new Parrós tele-ski (2,079 meters above sea level), connecting both ski areas of the resort. With an average width of 30 m and without actions on the profile.

- Track to l'Obaga: From the arrival of the new tele-ski at 2,409 meters above sea level, between the two tracks-itinerary that are located to the left of the valley of Arriu d'Esmeligàs, until the exit point of the ski lift at 2,079 meters above sea level. It joins with the slope of connection with the Blanhiblar ski area in its final section. With an average width of 30 m and without any actions on the profile

Total budget: 481,099 euros.
