Boí Taüll opened the ski season in the south of Europe and then received a great snowfall.

The heavy snowfall that began to fall this Saturday afternoon throughout the Pyrenees, has left in Boí Taüll thicknesses that exceed half a meter of snow, with maximums of up to 65 centimetres of snow. An episode of precipitation that is expected to continue, thus increasing the thicknesses.

The mountain staff is working since early in the morning to step on the fallen snow and to prepare more slopes for this Monday, when it is a holiday in some autonomous communities.

Boí Taüll was the first winter resort in the Iberian Peninsula and the Pyrenees to open its ski season, and probably in southern Europe, since in Italy the slopes of the Apennines have had to delay the start of the season due to lack of snow.

A couple of ribbons were opened to give access to two green runs. The aim was to offer a small snack to customers with season ski passes who had come to the Vall de Boí to spend the Immaculate Conception, and even to give the first lessons to those who did not want to wait any longer.

On Sunday the facilities had to be closed due to the strong gusts of wind. Now we will work intensively throughout the week to condition the maximum skiable ski area and be able to open again next Saturday and uninterruptedly.
