Tired of the same old slopes? Maybe it's time for a change of scenery and try one of these unique ski resorts in Europe. Read on and find out everything you need to know about Europe's most exotic ski resorts.
Skiing in Spain? Beaches, sun and sangria may come to mind when you think of holidays in Spain, but few international tourists know that the peninsula has some thirty first-class ski resorts , largely located in the Pyrenees, spread between the Aragonese Pyrenees and the Catalan Pyrenees.
But that's not all, as in Andalusia, in southern Spain, very close to the popular holiday destination Granada, is Sierra Nevada, the southernmost ski resort in Europe, located in the mountain range of the same name . Sierra Nevada offers more than 100km of perfectly prepared slopes, suitable for all levels and has excellent snow conditions, especially in spring.
Sunny days, north-facing slopes and tapas bars, Sierra Nevada is the dream of every skier looking for a unique holiday experience, combining sea and mountain!Imagine starting the day gliding down freshly groomed slopes, stopping for some delicious Spanish tapas and ending the day with a swim in the Mediterranean Sea and a stroll through the historic city of Granada!
Spain strikes again! If you love the high-end appeal of resorts like Val d'Isère or Courchevel, you have to try skiing in Baqueira Beret. Located in the Catalan Pyrenees, just a few hours from Barcelona, it is one of the most popular ski resorts in Spain and a favourite of the rich and famous.
Surprisingly, it offers excellent value for money, with 160km of slopes at a reasonable price and excellent off-piste dining options. Enjoy quieter slopes and less queues, especially during the holidays, and soak up the authentic Spanish atmosphere skiing in Baqueira Beret.
The French Alps are known for their resorts at extreme altitudes, which guarantee excellent snow quality, but this comes at a price. If you are looking for alternatives with guaranteed snow, Isola 2000, located just an hour and a half from Nice on the French Riviera, is your gateway to the Southern French Alps.
Isola 2000 is often the snowiest resort in the French Alps, especially early in the season. The terrain is varied and especially suitable for beginners and intermediates, with a respectable 120km of pistes and some challenging tree-lined off-piste for experienced snowboarders and skiers looking for fresh snow.
Despite the fame of the Aosta Valley, the Espace San Bernardo ski area, formed by the French-Italian resorts of La Thuile and La Rosiè;re, has managed to maintain its hidden treasure character. If you are looking for a friendly, family ski resort, without an unbridled après-ski atmosphere, this attractive old mining village is ideal. Unlike its neighboring resorts, it stands out for its relaxed après-ski, without pretensions or excesses.
La Thuile - La Rosière is very popular with families and beginners, thanks to its excellent, easily accessible slopes and free childcare services. On the sporting side it offers 150km of slopes for all levels with good snow conditions and sunny days, extending its ski season well into April.

If you feel like skiing in Switzerland, this is the resort for you. The so-called Angel Mountain is an excellent alternative for freeriders and off-piste lovers who frequent Chamonix and surroundings, little known among the international ski community. The mix of incredible off-piste terrain and beginner slopes makes for a great time for groups of all abilities.
With an average of more than 220 ski days, Engelberg offers the longest continuous winter ski season in Switzerland. Engelberg may not be the classic Swiss chocolate box village, but it certainly offers something for everyone, and is easily accessible from Zurich and Basel airports.
And when you've had enough, you can recharge your batteries with delicious Swiss cuisine in no less than 16 mountain restaurants and enjoy the spectacular views of Mount Titlis.
