#Activities to do for non-skiers in Tignes
If you're not into skiing, this ski resort also offers other things to do.
There's a bowling alley, you can also try ice diving on the resort's lake, go down a 3km tobogganing slope, try out a unique ski-bungee jump, an indoor climbing wall and the giant Lagon aqua centre, with pools, water slides and wellness area.
# Après-ski in Tignes
Other ski resorts may be better known for their après-ski atmosphere but Tignes doesn't fall short. Here's a list of the most popular spots where you can have an ice cold beer after a day of skiing :
Dropzone
Located in Val Claret, Dropzone has the resort's biggest south-facing terrace and some of the cheapest beer in town. There's happy hour from 3pm to 6pm. The bar area serves snacks and has DJs, live bands, table football, pool, a big video screen and free Wi-Fi. At 10pm the place transforms into a nightclub.
Couloir bar
Another great spot in Val Claret, Couloir bar is the place to go for live music. It hosts a mix of bands and DJs, and a soul and funk night once a week. The bar has a large selection of whiskeys and cocktails and serves tapas, plus there's a restaurant upstairs.
Grizzly's
A log cabin styled pub with a lovely warm and woody with an outdoor fire pit. Grizzly's is one of the most attractive venues in Tignes Val Claret for a vin chaud or hot chocolate. But it is expensive, especially the cocktail menu.
Le Blue Girl
Open from midnight until 5am, Le Blue Girl in Val Claret is one of the resorts few late-night clubs. With a mainly EuroPop, Techno and R&B playlist don't expect to see the first lift if you end the night dancing here.
Le Cocorico
At the bottom of the lifts at the main central hub in Val Claret, Le Cocorico opened its second dance-in-your-ski-boots bar in 2019/20, after the huge success of its Val d'Isere branch, which opened in 2014. The 400-square-meter open-air terrace hosts live bands and DJs, playing crowd-pleasing pop-rock, daily from 4pm to 8pm. The restaurant serves quick lunches and pizzas, plus coffee, and is open all day.
Melting
Popular with seasonnaires and students, Melting in Val Claret is always busy and is open from midnight to 5am every day during the winter season. It's free to enter and there's a daily happy hour and regular drinks promotions.
#Ski Hotels, Chalets and Apartments in Tignes
There are a total of 5 villages, Val Claret (2,100m) has easy access to the glacier and, Tignes Le Lac which is just down the road, is the most convenient place to stay. If you're looking for budget-friendly options, there are loads of ski-in / ski-out apartments in La Lavachet.
Because of the spread-out nature of the villages, it's important to be aware of the location of accommodation before booking. However, apart from Les Brévières, they are all linked by free local bus.
