After a Christmas holiday in which Grandvalira has returned to be among the reference snow destinations, the Andorran resort reaches the first month of the new year operating almost 100% and with about 200 kilometres of tracks, the 14 links between Operative sectors and 131 open slopes of a total of 139 among which will be the mythical Àliga, scene of the Alpine skiing World Cup. These figures position Grandvalira as the resort with the most kilometres of the ski area in southern Europe.

With the domain touching the full performance, Grandvalira prepares a special celebration for Sunday January 19, in the framework of International Snow Day. The Andorran resort has prepared a whole series of activities dedicated to the little ones with the aim of enhancing the practice of snow sports, familiarizing them with their surroundings and sharing a fun family day. The Pla d'Espiolets of the Soldeu de Grandvalira sector will be the epicenter of World Snow Day with activities such as a parallel slalom, a mini boarder ski cross, a mini BigAir, a giant slalom (Paniquera Guille Stadium) and a snowboard workshop with the Burton Riglet's new learning method, in addition to various animations, hot chocolate and coca for all attendees.

The new season of the Gourmet Snow Club days with a dinner by Colmado Singular, one of the best brands in the gastronomic world created by businessman Francisco Colell, is also premiered this weekend.. The Snow Club Gourmet is open to members and non-members and offers thematic culinary experiences in the form of dinners, vermouths, pairings and other unique events at different points of the resort with the company of famous gourmets such as David Sueiro, Fina Puigdevall or Oriol Casals.

At the Grandvalira Mountain Park in the Grau Roig sector, visitors can enjoy fun alternatives such as dog sledding , snowmobile excursions or the Kids Forest and endless activities offered to the smallest of the family . The après-ski of Grandvalira, one of the main attractions

The après-ski of Grandvalira remains one of the main attractions for skiers when the season closes the ski area and one more weekend, it will present a selection of top-level artists from the music scene . During Saturday evening, l'Abarset will feature the performance of DJ Ismael Rivas and at the Après Amélie there will be a House of Madness session with Eric Yanguas.

At the gastronomic level, Grandvalira customers can choose from a wide offer distributed by the seven sectors, with 100% of the operating establishments. Also at night, with nightly experiences at the Refugi del Llac de Pessons, the Vodka Bar, the 3 Estanys restaurant, l'Arrossería Pi del Migdia, the Piolet brasserie, the Roc de les Bruixes restaurant and the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon, which can be accompanied by activities such as snowshoes, snowshoeing or snowmobiling.

Imminent temperature drop

The weather forecasts provide for a decrease in temperatures for the next few days and also precipitation in the form of snow that will allow, on the one hand, the activation of the canyons, and on the other, the work of the teams on the ground to continue guaranteeing the Better snow conditions.

Ordino Arcalís enables mountain ski circuits

Ordino Arcalís plans to continue with 100% of the slopes and ski lifts in operation , and with thicknesses ranging from 85 to 100 cm of powder snow . The snowfall announced for the weekend could significantly increase the thicknesses. During the last days, more mountain ski circuits have been enabled and alternative activities have been promoted with the Grandvalira Mountain Guides. In this sense, the sheltered shelter of the Sorteny Natural Park has been opened, offering an alternative accommodation just a few kilometres from Arcalís. This refuge allows combining the experiences proposed at the resort with gastronomy and sports in a different place, with all the comforts and without losing the essence of the mountain.
