Pal Arinsal chairlift this summer

The resorts of Grandvalira Resorts close the most important part of the summer season with a positive assessment after maintaining last year's volume of visitors. As of yesterday, more than 164,000 people have passed through the resorts since they opened in mid-June, not counting the spectators of the MTB World Cup held in late August in Pal Arinsal. Figures on attendance at this top-level event, which has been the prelude to the World Cups to be held in 2024, will be released after the close of business on October 12.

The official kick-off for the summer season was last June 3 with the opening of the accesses to the Mirador Solar de Tristaina, followed by the Bike Park of Pal Arinsal, which started the season on June 9. The weekend of San Juan opened the Mon(t) Magic, the Golf de Soldeu, the refuge of Lago de Pessons and the Mountain Park of Pal Arinsal. During the month of June also began the activity of the Grandvalira Mountain Guides and the Epic Andorra experiences.

Although the bulk of Grandvalira Resorts proposals have ended the summer season this September 11, you can still enjoy activities in the Andorran resorts. Thus, Soldeu Golf will be open until September 24 while the Bike Park in Pal Arinsal will be open on weekends until October 15. Also until October 15 there is time to enjoy the proposals of Epic Andorra (the Piolet hut and the Domo Lodge). As for the Mirador Solar de Tristaina, it will be accessible until November 1 with the Creussans chairlift and the Tristaina gondola lift. The latter will remain open only on weekends.

Grandvalira E-Bike Trails

The Grandvalira E-bike Trails circuits, the great novelty of the season, have obtained a great response from visitors. The success of this first year in operation of the 94 kilometres of circuits for E-bikes augurs a great future for this activity as a present and future proposal for the summer in the country. The general manager of Grandvalira Resorts, Juan Ramón Moreno, comments:

"The feedback we have had in this first season of the Grandvalira E-Bike Trails project is very positive. This encourages us to continue working to improve the proposal, because there is still room to further enhance the cycling territory in the resort".

The Soldeu gondola lift will remain open, so bike lovers will still have days to enjoy the circuits and take advantage of the lifts to save battery power.

Mon()t Magic Family Park in Canillo and Golf de Soldeu

The Mon(t) Magic maintains the figures of previous summers, as of September 11, with about 40,000 visitors, being one of the most valued proposals for those who move around with their families. The park located in the ski area of Canillo has already become one of the classics for adventurous families looking for experiences to have fun both large and small: kayaking or Redshark, trekking circuits, mini-golf, inflatables and trampolines, tubing, archery and nearly twenty exciting proposals. The big stars are, without a doubt, the Màgic Gliss slide -also with its virtual reality version-, and the zip line with a descent of more than half a kilometre.

Golf Soldeu, which will remain open until the 24th, has managed to increase the social mass of the club this summer thanks to outstanding proposals such as the Pro-am tournament, held on August 1, 2 and 3.

This golf course, the highest 9-hole course in Europe, is one of the most visited areas of the resort, the perfect place for both golf lovers who value the experience of playing their favourite sport at an altitude of 2,250 m and for beginners.

Funicamp

The Funicamp, in the Encamp ski area, has broken its record with 16,000 users as of September 11. The longest funicamp in Europe, with a 25-minute ride and reaching an altitude of 2,502 meters, has seen its number of users grow thanks in part to the new E-bike circuits, as well as the many proposals to enjoy nature and the Racó de Solanelles restaurant.

The Funicamp route takes users through the Cortals valley, the starting point for hiking trails, mountain bike descents and 4x4 excursions to discover high mountain landscapes and the cultural heritage of the area. There is also a stop for the 4x4 bus that takes you to the Pessons Lake.

It should also be noted that this summer, during the months of May to August, the photovoltaic panels on the roofs of the different buildings of the resort and the Grau Roig hydroelectric plant have produced 50% of the energy consumed by the operational infrastructures of the Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig and Encamp ski areas, such as the Funicamp.

High mountain restoration

Grandvalira Resorts has dozens of gastronomic proposals for all tastes, which makes it a perfect destination for the most demanding palates.

Among these is the Restaurant del Lago de Pessons, one of the most emblematic restaurants of the resort, a very good option for lovers of nature and good gastronomy, which can also be enjoyed on weekends in September and October. Local cuisine also stars in the menus of Roc de les Bruixes and Racó de Solanelles, while the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon is based on fresh market cuisine and a Josper area with grilled meats as a common thread. The latter will remain open until September 24.

Likewise, Pal Arinsal also has a great gastronomic offer to accompany the intense days of biking or family activities with the Coll de la Botella restaurant, among others, which has offered a high mountain cuisine thanks to its famous mountain rice dishes. As for Ordino Arcalís, the Restaurant La Coma and its traditional high mountain cuisine have been again the protagonists of the season, as well as the Sorteny Refuge.

Bike Park and the Mountain Park of Pal Arinsal.

This summer, as of September 11, about 43,000 people have passed through Pal Arinsal, a figure that is slightly lower than last year, but has been compensated by the increase in average consumption per customer. The resort will remain open until October 12 on weekends and has once again been the nerve center of professional cycling thanks to the MTB World Cup, a classic competition held in the resort's bike park, one of the most prestigious in Europe.

The resort also had its own family and adventure proposal this summer with the Mountain Park, an activity center that offers sports and nature activities for everyone: sports circuits, rope park, go-karting, zip lines for adults and children, and tubing tracks, among others.

The end of the summer season will be in charge of the Red Bull Holy Bike, which will take place in the Bike Park of Pal Arinsal on October 7 and 8, with a unique MTB event that challenges particitrousers to face the disciplines of enduro, downhill and avalanche.

The Bike Park of Arinsal is consolidated as one of the best in the Pyrenees.

Tristaina Solar viewpoint

The Ordino Arcalís ski resort, which inaugurated the summer season on June 3 with the opening of the lifts leading to the Mirador Solar de Tristaina, has so far received 65,000 visitors, slightly more than the previous year at this time.

One of the attractions in the ascent to the viewpoint, which will be open until November 1, is the souvenir photograph on the Creussans chairlift, a proposal that has pleased visitors with nearly 8,000 photographs downloaded. As for visits to the Sorteny Valley Natural Park, which is part of the Biosphere Book by UNESCO, have increased by 15% over last summer.

It should be noted that this season, in addition, the new photovoltaic panels of the La Coma building have produced the equivalent of 90% of the electricity consumed by the Creussans chairlift during the summer months.

The Tristaina Solar Viewpoint and the gondola lift are the stars of the summer season in Ordino Arcalís.
