Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís achieved a good summer season with more visitors than last year overall, although the adverse weather has affected occupancy on key dates.

The Mirador Solar de Tristaina, the Bike Park of Pal Arinsal, the Golf de Soldeu and the restaurants Refugi del Llac de Pessons and Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon will remain open for the next few weeks.

Grandvalira Resorts have registered during the summer season more than 173,800 visitors up to September 15. This figure is higher than last year's, although rainy spells have clearly affected key dates. Once again, it confirms the good performance of the summer proposals in Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís since they opened last June.

The data also show that visitors have received very well the new afternoon passes and the extended opening hours at the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo and the Mountain Park in Pal Arinsal. In addition, the Mirador Solar de Tristaina is consolidating its position as one of the star attractions in Andorra with 60,000 visitors so far.

It should be noted that, although most of the proposals of the season ended the summer season on Sunday, September 8, the Mirador will remain open until November 3, and can be accessed with the Creussans chairlift and, on weekends, with the Tristaina gondola lift.

Visit Andorra

Likewise, the Bike Park of Pal Arinsal will be open on weekends until October 13 and the Golf Soldeu and its magnificent Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon will remain open until September 29. On the other hand, the Restaurant Refugi Llac de Pessons will be open until October 12.

Mon(t) Magic and Golf Soldeu: two emblematic Grandvalira attractions

This year 42,100 people have visited the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo and Golf Soldeu during the summer, a figure slightly higher than the previous year when 40,000 people attended. The family leisure center opened on June 22 with new Family Walks itineraries and a new ski lift as new features to reinforce its wide range of leisure activities, including, for example, archery, tubing, kayaking, the longest zip line in the Pyrenees and the iconic Màgic Gliss slide.

Golf Soldeu will still be open until September 29, as will the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon. Thus, golf fans can still squeeze the last days of the highest 9-hole course in Europe that this year has premiered a new practice course and has changed the orientation to improve the customer experience.

The Funicamp: one of the hubs of e-bike tours

Europe's longest funitel closed on Sunday, September 1 with almost 12,000 users, a remarkable figure considering that this summer it has been open 15 days less than last summer. In terms of average daily occupancy, the number of users was slightly higher than in 2023.

The Funicamp is one of the main access points to the more than 100 km of routes for electric bikes in Grandvalira that were launched last summer and that this year, due to its good reception, have been extended with more kilometers and improvements in the circuits, consolidating itself as one of the best received summer proposals in the country. It also allows you to enjoy the excellent proposal of Racó de Solanelles, one of the most iconic restaurants of the resort.

For its part, the Pioners gondola lift, in Pas de la Casa, has registered very similar figures to last year with more than 2,000 visitors, mainly families and children, who have gone to the Orri del Cubil to discover the activity of fishing without death in the lake and enjoy a walk through nature. It should be remembered that the Pioners gondola operates with 100% renewable energy produced by the Pessons mini-hydroelectric plant and the photovoltaic panels of the Grau Roig ski area.

The summer full of proposals of Pal Arinsal

The resort of Pal Arinsal has attracted a large number of visitors this summer. Specifically, 57,700 people, i.e. 34% more than the 43,000 who came to the mountain resort of La Massana the previous year.

One of the novelties of the summer was the Furious by Pal Arinsal club, the mountain biking program for children between 3 and 11 years old, which enhances the cycling offer of the resort together with the Bike School. Likewise, the prestigious Bike Park and its more than 60 km of circuits of all modalities will remain open during the weekends until October 13.

The balance is also very positive for the resort's activity center, the Mountain Park, and the new afternoon passes to access the park's various activities such as karting, the climbing wall, skill challenges, among many others.

Also, this season has highlighted the good operation of the cable car of Els Orriols in Arinsal with more than 6,000 users.

UCI MTB World Championships 2024

The summer in Andorra has been marked by the great sporting event of the year in the country, and more specifically in the resort of Pal Arinsal, with the UCI MTB World Championships. The event brought together the best riders on the world scene and thousands of fans from all over the world between August 26 and September 1. The excellent organization of the World Championships was a key factor in the success of the competition, and was praised by the athletes, their teams and the International Cycling Union itself.

The final occupancy figures during the World Championships will be informed soon, but the good occupancy results achieved in Pal Arinsal this summer are largely due to this event, with which it has once again demonstrated its capacity to host top-level international competitions.

The Tristaina Solar Viewpoint consolidates its position as Andorra's star attraction.

The summer balance at the Ordino Arcalís resort shows the success of the Mirador Solar de Tristaina with 60,000 visitors, at least until September 15, since the accesses will remain open until November 3. The data are very similar to those of the previous year, although they have been conditioned by the episodes of rain that have affected at key times, especially some weekends. In any case, the Mirador remains as a tourist reference in Andorra for yet another summer. In addition, its success boosts other offers of the resort such as the Riberamunt route, with more than 30 information points to learn about the history of a territory declared Biosphere Book by UNESCO, or the Sorteny-Arcalís outing guided by the Grandvalira Mountain Guidas.

The Ordino Arcalís summer experience has been completed with the gastronomic proposal of the Restaurant La Coma, which has offered its high mountain cuisine and rice dishes, and the Refugi de Sorteny, with traditional dishes of Andorran cuisine, and where it has also been possible to stay overnight.

Gastronomic destination

Another attraction of Grandvalira Resorts is its wide range of restaurants. During the next few weeks, the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon will remain open until September 29, and the Llac de Pessons Restaurant will be open until October 12. The latter is the perfect option for those who want to enjoy the incredible views of the lake and traditional mountain cuisine.

Precisely, delighting in the local gastronomy has been the main attraction this summer of the Racó de Solanelles brasserie in the Encamp ski area and the Coll de la Botella in Pal Arinsal, known for its rice dishes.

In addition, visitors to Ordino Arcalís have also been able to enjoy an extraordinary culinary proposal with the Restaurant La Coma, and its commitment to quality products and proximity, and the Refugi de Sorteny as protagonists.
