Masella closes one of its best ski season starts in recent years

True to its tradition of trying to open as soon as possible and that others, last Tuesday, December 10, Masella was the first to give the starting signal to the ski season both in the Pyrenees and in the rest of the peninsula. At least uninterruptedly and with cable transport.

Since that day, the mountain staff has been working intensively to expand its offer of slopes to the 27 kilometres with which it has closed this weekend. In addition, it already has 100% of the skiable slope available, that is to say that it is possible to descend uninterruptedly from the top of the summit of the Tosa - 2535 m to the base of the ski area located in the Pla de Masella - 1600 m.

Currently there are slopes open in the ski areas of La Tosa, Cap del Bosc, Bosc d'Alp, La Pleta, Pla de Masella and Coma Oriola. Having consolidated these areas, we are now working to continue skiing in other areas with the aim of opening as many as possible for Christmas.

Although the snowfalls have helped a lot to start the season, it has been thanks to the modern system of snow production that is being able to open more slopes. However, not all the canyons can be put into operation at the same time, so resort managers are prioritizing the main axes first and opening 100% of the skiable slope.

Objectives already covered and that, therefore, allows the engine room to now direct its efforts to other ski areas of the ski resort that are being prepared for these coming days with the aim of having the maximum skiable area at Christmas, when a large influx of skiers is expected.

For the moment, the snowfalls have left a totally wintry image that has allowed to start the season with a lot of optimism and a very good atmosphere on the slopes.

In addition, the northern snowfalls of a week ago and, especially, the easterly on Wednesday and Thursday have left us a magnificent winter landscape, which has allowed skiers to enjoy the first weekend of the 2024-25 season.
