News 2018-2019 for the seasons: Port Ainé and Espot Esquí

On Wednesday, February 17, a press meeting was held in Lleida, the President of Ferrocarrils of the Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), Enric Ticó, announced some of the news for the ski resorts that the company has in its possession ( Port Ainé and Espot Esquí ).

The investment for both complexes will be 1.5 million euros , and consists of an 80% renewal of the snow cannons of both seasons. New generation devices that promise much more snow by spending less water and energy resources.

Another investment that will be made is the expansion of car park spaces in Port Ainé . It has been decided that at the 2,000 level, 15 more spaces are added and then, a little above the Hotel, a new car park lot with 530 spaces and direct access to the slopes will be built.

Espot Ski will also bet on the renovation of its recreational park , since this type of facilities work very well in Port Ainé. The infrastructure will be within the limits of the resort, and will not invade the Natural Park that surrounds this resort. The Catalan Pyrenees resort will also buy a snow thrower.

With these investments Enric Ticó seeks a consolidation of the number of skiers on both slopes and economic viability. For the latter, the last action to be carried out would be the recruitment of private businesses, which will open their stores in the resorts or in the areas of main influx of skiers and may benefit from the economy of the resort.
