The Ordino Arcalís resort has closed the snow season this Sunday, April 28, with the best results of recent years. Specifically, the occupation has experienced an increase of 11%, reaching 199,000 days of skiing . This fact, combined with an increase of the average consumption per skier of 12%, has generated that the growth of the collection by box of the resort has been of 25%. Within this increase in consumption per customer, the direct sale of Ordino Arcalís ski passes has been the protagonist , with an increase of 35%. In this sense, the improvement of the Restoration and School figures is also notable, with increases of 25% and 15%, respectively .

The overall balance is more than satisfactory , and these figures are attributed to the work of all departments throughout the season: the objective has always been to guarantee one of the best products in the Pyrenees . In this way, the maximum return has been taken to the investments made during the past summer, allowing the opening of the Abarsetar sector since the beginning of the season with the new line of cannons on the Les Canals slope and also guaranteeing access to the La sector Eat with the new Tristaina Telecabina . These investments have been carried out thanks to the entry of Saetde into the shareholders of Secnoa, which materialized last spring. The good weather, with many sunny days and an increasingly recognized restoration offer, have been other factors to take into account in achieving the final result .

The Ordino Arcalís resort opened the season on November 29 and closed on Sunday, April 28, after 151 days, although weather conditions have forced it to close for three days due to wind . The resort has remained virtually the entire period with a percentage of between 85% and 100% of open tracks .

The season has been marked by the anticyclonic days with snow cycles that have been consolidating the snow thickness. Since the end of January, the high level has been maintained at 200 cm, and above 100 cm at the base of the resort . In this way, the occupation has been growing at the same rate as the snowfall has occurred. Another fact that has favored this growth has been the good state of the accesses, which have been kept clean throughout the season, as well as the great acceptance of the exclusive transport service for customers , launched already during the previous campaign.

The good temperatures and the state of the slopes have led many skiers to choose Ordino Arcalís as their destination, knowing that the resort offers a snow guarantee. Thus, it is confirmed once again that Ordino Arcalís is a safe value in seasons of snow shortage in the Pyrenees .

Tristaina gondola lift

The Tristaina cable car, which opened on December 22, has been one of the pillars of the resort's growth. Clients have valued their service very positively , since it unloads the base of the resort and gives a boost to the Coma area. The assessment made from the resort is very positive, since it has allowed many debuting skiers and pedestrians to have discovered an area that until now was inaccessible to them . Currently , access to the Coma is much faster and more comfortable , since the journey takes only 5 minutes, comfortably sitting and sheltered by a cabin with unique panoramic views. Skiers are distributed more agilely by the resort and beginners and families have discovered this place, which in the future is called to consolidate as a tourist attraction, although it was already a key point of the ski resort .

Ski school

Parallel to the increase in occupation, activity in the ski and snowboard school of Ordino Arcalís has increased. The number of private classes has increased at the same rate as the collective classes . In this case the increase has been 15%.

Meteo - Snow Status

The resort has accumulated more 620 cm of snow at the 2,550 m level. Although the season has been dominated by a large anticyclone, the intermittent snowfall that has been recorded has been sufficient to guarantee good quality and quantity over the more than 5 months that the resort has been open. In this way, the sun and pleasant temperatures have been an ally for the season.

Restoration

Regarding the area of restoration, the improvements in the Borda de la Coma , the new gastronomic proposals and the impulse of the nocturnal activities have been key factors. This year, a new brewery has been opened in La Coma, a proposal that has allowed us to enjoy another terrace at the resort. The meteorological bonanza and the Tristaina cable car have favored that many people, apart from skiers, have visited the Coma, and have ended up discovering the restoration of the resort .

The traditional dinners of the full moon days and weekends of La Borda de La Coma , which are accessed with giant sled and caterpillar vehicle, have seen their offer expanded with a new experience: El Refugi de les Portelles, the The highest restaurant in the country, located in Cap de la Coma at more than 2,500 m , with a very reduced capacity, but offering a very exclusive experience.

The resort starts all the machinery for the summer season. During the next few days, the access road to the Coma will open, works that have started this Monday, and the Andorra Ski Federation will train until May 10 at the Les Canals track . The resort works the slope every day and opens a ski lift to facilitate the training of skiers .
