Satisfaction at Grandvalira Resorts for the 293,000 ski days of the Christmas holidays
Thanks to the hard work of the terrain teams and investments in state-of-the-art growing snow, the resorts of the Principality have been able to offer 150 skiable km. The snowfall of the last few days, the forecast of new precipitation and the high volume of bookings augur well for the end of the season.
The resorts of Grandvalira Resorts closed the Christmas holidays with a satisfactory balance of visitors. Specifically, between December 23 and January 7, the domains have sold a total of 292,545 ski days, with 220,827 in Grandvalira, 44,871 in Pal Arinsal and 26,847 in Ordino Arcalís. Once again, we must highlight the extraordinary work of the terrain teams, which in the context of the generalized lack of snowfall in the Pyrenees, have managed that the Andorran resorts have been able to offer about 150 skiable kilometres between the three domains throughout these two weeks.
In this sense, it has also been very important the production of growing snow and the extensive snowmaking network of Grandvalira Resorts, which invests heavily each season to have the latest technology to ensure the best quality, and that these days has allowed Andorra's resorts to offer very good conditions. All this has reinforced Andorra as one of the main snow destinations in the Peninsula.

On the other hand, the expected snowfalls of the last days have gone very well and have left thicknesses of 45 cm of new snow in Grandvalira, 55 cm in Pal Arinsal and 60 cm in Ordino Arcalís, an excellent end of the holidays that makes foresee good snow conditions for the coming weeks, thanks also to the forecast of new precipitations. This has allowed to expand the skiing offer with about 180 km skiable between all the resorts, among which highlights the opening to the public of the Avet slope, which continues its preparation for the big event of the winter with the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup on February 10 and 11.
It is also important to highlight the premiere, before Christmas, of the new six-people chairlift Port Negre in Arinsal, the main novelty of the season in Pal Arinsal. The general manager of Grandvalira Resorts, Juan Ramón Moreno, points out that "the prospects for the remainder of the season in terms of bookings are excellent, both in terms of local markets and the arrival of many groups from international markets".

The traditional Christmas activities have been very well received by visitors to the three resorts, among which the visits of Santa Claus to the different snow gardens of Grandvalira and Ordino Arcalís, and to the Cow Bella in Pal Arinsal have stood out. The star actions have been the torchlight descents and the parade in Pas de la Casa, as well as the torchlight and light descents in Soldeu.

The ski schools in the resorts have been operating at almost 100% during the Christmas period, and the seasonal children's schools, the Màgic Ski, the Avet Center and the Snowplus have been doing particularly well. As for the activities, which have also had significant occupancy figures, mushing, snowmobiling and the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo in Grandvalira have stood out, while in Pal Arinsal the activities for family audiences have been well received, especially the sledging track, tubbing and the Big Airbag. Ordino Arcalís continues to be the reference for mountain outings with the star visit to the Mirador Solar de Tristaina.
As for catering, visitors have taken advantage of the varied gastronomic offer offered by the different ski areas and have enjoyed the atmosphere, the views and the DJs of the different terraces. The dinners under the stars offered by Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís were also very well received.
L'Abarset, meanwhile, has once again been the center of Andorran après-ski and has enjoyed a great atmosphere with parties and DJs that have filled the place every day. Among the highlights were the end-of-year parties with Josh Wink and Vida Loca, the performance of the painter Mr Dripping accompanied by DJs Arodes and Andrea Oliva, and the new edition of Brunch Electronik, which brought to Andorra the electronic dance of Vitalic and the techno of Raxon on January 5, and Viviana Casanova on January 6.

On the other hand, from this Thursday, the Pas de la Casa ski area will start night skiing. Thus, the Tubs slope and the La Solana chairlift will continue to operate after 5 pm and will be illuminated until 8 pm. During the month of January, it will be activated between Thursday and Saturday, while in the month of February, night skiing will be operational every day in its usual schedule, weather permitting. In this regard, it is worth remembering that all day, multiday, season and Plus+ Ski Passes are valid for access to the night ski slope, except for the pedestrian ski pass.
With the snow precipitations received in recent days, plus those expected, Grandvalira Resorts face the coming months with optimism, where the celebration of major sporting milestones stands out.
Pal Arinsal will kick off the competition season with the Spanish Cup and the Andorra Cup of ski mountaineering this weekend, which will be the prelude to the ISMF Comapedrosa Andorra World Cup to be held from January 19 to 21.
Next, Ordino Arcalís will host the 32nd edition of the Borrufa Trophy, from January 22 to 25, and then prepare for a new Freeride World Tour event, from February 1 to 7.
Finally, Grandvalira will hold the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Women's Alpine Ski World Cup on February 10 and 11 and the Kilometer Launch World Cup from March 12 to 15.
