Sierra Nevada ski resort receives more snow and consolidates conditions

The ski resort of Sierra Nevada has registered during the early morning and part of this morning, new precipitations in the form of snow that has accumulated between 10 and 15 centimeters depending on the areas. A situation that will allow to consolidate the conditions on the slopes, where thicknesses of up to 180 cm are recorded, which will probably be slightly increased during these days thanks to a new squall.

The episode has been quite intense and has even reached levels below the urbanized area of Pradollano, causing incidents on the access road to the ski resort.

The forecast for the next hours is that the snow precipitations will be repeated during the evening of today.

The snow has reached all the heights of Sierra Nevada

This Tuesday the resort has made a progressive opening of slopes and lifts to reach 33 skiable kilometres in areas of Borreguiles, Rio and Loma de Dílar; the wind has prevented the opening of the higher areas.

Until the arrival of this new episode of snowfall, around 85 kilometres of slopes were being opened for skiing. A part that is expected to recover as weather conditions permit.

The ski season in Sierra Nevada will be extended until Sunday, April 28, thanks to the good snow conditions and the new squalls that allow consolidating the situation on the slopes.
