Snowfall and sunshine bring terracing to Baqueira Beret ski slopes

1 The "must" terraces

3 The practical terraces

The day lengthens during March which reminds us that spring has just arrived, accompanied by the increasingly powerful sun, but also by important snowfalls such as the up to 15 cm left by last weekend's levante.

From Baqueira propose a tour of the main terraces of the station to enjoy the rest of the season in which the sunshine goes hand in hand with the sporting hedonism of high mountain.

The resort of Val d'Aran and Valls d'Àneu has more than 25 points of restoration and many of them have spectacular terraces to enjoy the views, the sun and good company.

They are a good complement to the current offer of the station this third week of March, with 150 skiable km, more than 100 slopes open, all lifts in operation and snow thickness at high altitudes exceeding one meter.

The "must" terraces

There are three terraces in Baqueira that bring together the best of each house. The Moët Winter Lounge is the most aspirational destination in the resort, with a mix of French sparkling wine, a very carefully selected menu and exclusive events that make it the place to be if your thing is high altitude showmanship.

On the other hand, the terrace of Baqueira Bar 1500, enlarged this year, seems to be getting smaller and smaller for an evening that increasingly seduces more skiers and snowboarders who after finishing the day descending the Vuelta a Casa have in this bar their obligatory stop for the first drink while they review the evolutions of a great day on the slopes.

Finally, the one we often insist as the terrace with the best views of Baqueira located in the Cinco Jotas Grill in 1800. Although it is a terrace for lunch and not strictly festive, it is worth trying at least once. At the feet of the diners all the Val de Ruda with incredible views of Montarto, Ratera, Cendrosa not to mention the massif of Aneto and Maladetas.

The alternatives

Either because they have been recently renovated or because they are far from everything and everyone, there are alternatives to the most popular terraces in which to take refuge in the tranquility of the high mountain. The favourite of many is the Pàrrec Dossau, where sandwiches, snacks and broths are served on a discreet terrace.

Located right next to the old base of the Dossau chairlift, now in disuse, which gives it a certain romanticism and breathtaking panoramic views of Beret mutating into Montgarri.

Without leaving the largest area of the station, the Pàrrec Blanhiblar, with a different view of Baqueira and the Cara Nord enjoys an east orientation that allows an ideal sunshine.

Already in Baqueira, the terrace of the Bar-Restaurant 2200 is now very quiet since the Audi Ski Kronos was moved to Beret. In addition, the circular restaurant offers a selection of meats that is another of the great secrets of the gastronomy of the resort.

In Bonaigua, the terrace of the Bar Bonaigua offers a space with some bustle being in the Cap del Port, but that serves the Refugi San Miguel and the Bar and Restaurants Bonaigua so it invites you to have a drink and enjoy its southeast orientation towards the Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes.

The practical terraces

The terrace of the Forest , which serves the Free Flow, the Pàrrec or the Corner, takes the lead in this section. Very spacious, it allows a large influx of people on peak days of the season without being overly crowded. Just a few metres away, theterrace of La Choza offers views like those of Cinco Jotas, but only for a snack at the bar with the name of a vintage chairlift.

In Beret, the double-height terrace of the Bar and Self Service Audeth, as well as the Pla de Beret Restaurant, is one of the most populated in the resort and also the largest. Practical because it is located next to the rental, lockers, Baby Baqueira and three of the most prized lifts of the station: Clot Der Os, Dera Reina and Blanhiblar.

In Argulls highlights the Pàrrec of the same name that is perhaps the terrace with the least view of all, but being halfway between Baqueira and Bonaigua so a stop here is always appreciated.
