The Government of Aragon has taken this Wednesday a step forward for the union of the ski resorts of Formigal and Astún, which will involve an investment of more than 26 million added to the 8 million of the connection with Candanchú, by approving an agreement, although with the quadripartite partners divided, due to the rejection of Podemos and CHA.However , the four-party partners were divided, due to the rejection of Podemos and CHA, whose councilors, Maru Díaz and José Luis Soro, have expressed their disagreement and have asked for it to be recorded in the minutes of the meeting.

This was confirmed to Efe by sources from both parties after the press conference following the Governing Council in which the head of the Presidency, Mayte Pérez, reported on the approval of the collaboration agreement between the Government of Aragón, the Regional Government of Aragón, the Regional Government of Aragón and the Regional Government of the Autonomous Community of Aragon.The agreement between the Government of Aragón, the Huesca Provincial Council, Aramón, Formigal and the Astún ski resort for the connection of the resorts with a cable transport infrastructure financed with European funds.

Pérez has played down the importance of the discrepancies in the quadripartite, since they are "fully known by all" and even "agreed", and has defended the project, since, as he has said, it has almost unanimous agreement in the territory.

This project, said Perez, is strategic for the Aragonese Government to encourage the socio-economic development of both areas and the Aragonese Pyrenees.It is included in the Tourism Sustainability Plans of the central Government with European funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR).

The Councilor has insisted that the initiative has an almost unanimous consensus in the territory as it represents a "first level" opportunity to compete in snow sports with very relevant international enclaves, such as the Swiss Alps or Andorra.

The union of resorts will cost more than 26 million euros, added to the 8 million euros that the Astún and Candanchú link will cost, and is included in the ten projects that Aragón will manage from the Tourism Sustainability Department.n will manage of Tourist Sustainability in Destination, which entail a global investment of more than 63 million and can be developed until 2024.

The Councilor emphasized that the union of the Pyrenean valleys will serve to boost the snow ski area, which accounts for 7 percent of Aragon's GDP and generates an economic movement of 150 million a year, which is what really interests the residents living in these areas, who "have been longing for a long time to have the opportunity to enjoy the snow.have been longing for many years" for the project and the Government, this legislature, is being able to equipment ize historical demands and added that the discrepancies within the Government are

"He added that the discrepancies within the government are "well known, because if anything has been characterized by the quadripartite has been transparency.

Thus, the Governing Council, in which agreements are not voted, has approved the agreement with the disagreement, for inclusion in the minutes, of the two councilors of Podemos and CHA.

Support for sustainable tourism

Aragon will manage ten Tourism Sustainability Plans in Destination that involve an investment of more than 63 million Euros. The bulk of this item, about 53 million, will be allocated to projects to be developed in the municipalities and the territory in which the ski resorts are located. The projects may be developed until 2024.

The plans that were approved in December 2021 were distributed as follows:

- 10 million: Benasque City Council;
- 8 million: Mancomunidad del Alto Valle del Aragón,
- 8 million: Montanuy City Council;
- 1.7 million: Comarca del Matarraña and
- 2 million: Daroca City Council.
- 1 million: Comarca de Barbastro
- 2 million: Zaragoza City Council
- 2.8 million: Comarca de Calatayud
- 1.5 million: Maestrazgo

A cable car system will connect the Tena Valley with the Aragón Valley.
