The ski resorts of N'PY want to celebrate the excellent results that are being recorded this season, with spectacular promotions, a gigantic raffle and an end of season that for some may last until May 8.

This Monday, the last of the schoolchildren to take their winter holidays in France returned to school. These are four weeks in which these winter resorts are playing a big part of the season. From Saturday 5 February until yesterday, families took the opportunity to ski together, have lessons and do activities in the snow.

So much is the business of these four weeks, which join the two of Christmas, that many ski resorts close as soon as the school holidays are over. Camurac, Bourg d'Oueil, Goulier Neige, Hautacam and Puyvalador, already finished their winter campaign yesterday. Due to their size, and taking into account the amount of skiing available within a few kilometres, it is not worth keeping them operational.

Others will begin to do so throughout these weekends in March. In the N'PY Group, most of them will wait for the month of April, and some of them for Easter, where the ski deal will be concentrated.

The last of all will be the Pic du Midi , the ski area dedicated to freeride, which will wait until May 8 to close. Access will be via the Pic du Midi Cable Car. Starting from La Mongie 1800, it will take you to 2,877 meters in 15 minutes, with an intermediate stop at 2,341 Pic du Taoulet, from where a couple of itineraries depart. As reported on their website, you can also take the La Mongie chairlift to return, if the conditions are right.

When all the ski resorts close, it will be time for N'PY to make a final assessment of the entire winter tourism campaign, which began early this year, at the beginning of December, and which recorded good figures over the Christmas period and were also excellent in the four weeks of the school holidays.

According to the company, Peyragudes , Piau-Engaly , Grand Tourmalet , Pic Du Midi , Luz Ardiden , Cauterets , Gourette and La Pierre Saint Martin have received a large influx of skiers, which has helped to strengthen the entire mountain economy.

More than satisfactory results since the beginning of the season!

During the February holidays alone, from 5 February to 3 March, the N'Py ski resorts recorded 920,000 ski days, 17% more than the February 2020 holidays, and 3% more than the average for the last 3 years, 2019 - 2020 - 2021.

The surveys carried out in all the N'Py resorts give an overall satisfaction rating of 8/10. Skiers are happy to return to winter mountain activities.

Looking back at the first day of the season, 1,824,000 ski days have been sold between all the N'PY resorts, an increase of 11% compared to the same period in the 2019/2020 season.

The results of these 4 weeks of holidays, and more globally since the opening of the resorts, are extremely encouraging after 2 years marked by the consequences of the Covid pandemic. Carole Delga, president of the Compagnie des Pyrénées wanted to: "thank the teams and professionals who knew how to implement everything for a successful season. At their side, we remain mobilised to maintain activity and employment in our mountain areas, and this throughout the year with a tourism strategy oriented towards the 4 seasons.

But the ski season is not over yet, the last resort closes on 24 April. Let's continue our collective mobilisation to make this year the season of all records".

Some of the events until the end of the season

Although the holidays are over, the ski resprts are still places where fun and entertainment take place. Here we highlight a few cool events:
