If you have ever dreamt of skiing in one of the best ski resorts in the world, now is the time. The ever-popular ski resort, located in the Tyrolean Alps, at an altitude of 1,377 meters, next to the town of Paznaun is waiting for you.

Did you know that Ischgl is part of the Silvettra Arena ski area? It is next to the Swiss resort of Samnaun and together they form the only Austro-Swiss domain, so make sure to bring your ID or passport if you cross the border.

It offers more than 239 skiable km and about 45 lifts (cable cars, gondolas and chairlifts). With 47 km of blue and green runs, 143 km of red runs and 49 km of black runs there are options for all type of skiers! Its maximum altitude is 2,372 meters, guaranteeing the best snow conditions.

This winter resort offers so much more than just skiing to its visitors. Why not try out snowshoeing, moon biking, sledging, cross-country skiing, or ski-joering? And you have probably already heard about its famous Après Ski atmosphere, one of the most popular and recognized party scenes worldwide.

Sounds amazing, doesn't it? Ischgl offers everything you need for a great ski holiday. Great facilities, an impressive ski area, excellent snow conditions with views over its incredible landscapes and a lively atmosphere and delicious gastronomy. What are you waiting for to discover skiing in Ischgl with Esquiades.com?

Why should you ski in Ischgl?

If you are looking for a ski resort with great slopes and excellent snow quality, Ischgl won't let you down. There are up to 239 km of skiable slopes, with a minimum altitude of 1,360 m and a maximum altitude of 2,872 m.

One of Ischgl's best features? Well, it's a beginner-friendly resort and it's super easy to get there. Let us tell you all about how to get to Ischgl ski resort!

From the village of Ischgl itself, there are 3 cable cars that take you to the slopes. All of them will take you to the top of Idalp (at an altitude of 2,300 m).

Please note that most of the slopes in Idalp are labelled as red slopes, but all of them are very entertaining and rewarding to ski because of the incredible landscape they are surrounded by. You can ski all the way to the village, but be aware that the return runs go through a forest, so you'll have to ski through the trees, which can be challenging to ski beginners.

As you can probably imagine, Ischgl offers outstanding snow quality, due to its high altitude and its orientation. What's even more, the ski lifts in Ischgl are state of the art and super modern and guarantee great connections, resulting in fewer queues and more time to spend on the slopes!

In the area to the right of the resort is the Höllenkar ski area. Here you get to the top of the resort, so you can go all the way down very long runs to the Swiss village of Samnaun. If your skiing level is advanced, this area will be your favourite. This is where you will find the highest and most difficult slopes in the whole resort. There is also the Pardatschgrat area, which is on the left side. There are a lot of off-piste runs here and also a lot of fairly long runs that go all the way to the village of Ischgl. If we head towards Switzerland, we can find the Idjoch slopes. These lead down to the Alp Trida valley. This is one of the best areas for beginners, with easy pistes and fun red runs.

In short, there is good snow quality, top facilities, great pistes and good access. It is without a doubt a winning option.

Go on a family ski holiday in Ischgl with children

If you're planning a ski holiday with the family, don't worry about anything, because your children will have great fun in Ischgl, being able to enjoy themselves as they deserve.

There is a dedicated ski school for children in Ischgl and you can choose between private or group lessons, so that children can learn how to ski in the best way. In addition, there is a separate children's area that is great for them to practice at the beginning before venturing onto the slopes. Also at the top of Idalp, there is a kindercross for children. There are also several other activities for children in Ischgl, such as tobogganing, zip-lining, horseback riding and more. You could also visit one of the 3 museums in the area.

Our recommendation is that if you decide to ski in Ischgl, your kids should already have some skiing notions, as only a few beginner slopes reach the town of Ischgl, since all those for beginners are at the top of Idalp. That's a point to keep in mind! But for the rest, it will be a unique and super fun experience for them.
