The ski domain consists of three areas. The first one that opened its doors, in 1957, was that of Saint-Lary or Pla d'Adet , located at 1,700 m altitude. It is an ideal destination for snow fans and beginner skiers, as well as for families who want to travel to the snow with children. The place has a nursery, ski school, the Piou Piou snow garden, luge slopes and the L'Echarpe green track . Another advantage is that the ski lifts connect the area with the town center, where we have several hotels for accommodation.

If you want to practice skiing at the weekend in Saint-Lary, and it is not the first time that you get on the snowboard or skis, our advice is to visit the area of the Saint-Lary 1.900 Espiaube resort, the nearest to the town if you go by car. It is a transition sector where blue, red and black tracks await you, the latter located in the wooded area of the northern slope. Here you can glide along long tracks of up to 3 km in length, such as Terranère or Mirabelle, two of the most appreciated by visitors. This is connected by detachable chairlifts and a cable car. Also, in Espiaube you have a restaurant in which to regain strength.

Finally, you can climb up to Saint-Lary 2,400 Vallon du Portet , where you will find suitable slopes for expert skiers, and from which you can enjoy a magnificent 360 ° panorama of the French Pyrenees. This enclave accommodates a snowpark, a 3 km long Nordic ski slope, high-rise restaurants to which non-skiers and gliding areas also have access.

Very wide slopes and great quality snow. We were also lucky that there weren't many people and we hardly had to wait for the chairlifts and the perches.

The upper part of the slopes was good, with a good gradient and well signposted. On the third day it was noticeable that the machines had passed by and that they had filled some areas with snow. Even so, there was a lot of ice on some of the descents.

The weather was not very good, but the open slopes were quite good. There was little waiting at the lifts and that is a very positive point.
