Information about Masella

The Masella ski resort is located on the Tosa mountain, in the Cerdanya region, one of the Pyrenean valleys with more hours of sunshine a year. It is one of the most popular ski resorts in the Catalan Pyrenees and, together with La Molina, they form the Alp 2500 ski group.

 

This ski resort has a total of 65 slopes with a skiable length of 74 km that runs through forests and borders the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.

Why go skiing to Masella?

 

If you go skiing to Masella, you will be surprised by the unbeatable state of the north facing ski slopes . To guarantee high-quality snow for skiers, the resort has a total of 578 snow cannons .

 

In the resort there are 9 green ski slopes, 24 blue ski slopes, 22 red slopes and 10 black ones . A great diversity of slopes of different levels, from wide and with little slope for beginners, to black slopes only suitable for the most expert. If boarding is your thing, Masella also has a Snowpark called "La Pleta" at an elevation of 2,020 m, aimed at snowboarding and freestyle lovers.

 

The highest point of the resort is 2535 meters, at the top of La Tosa, and the lowest is 1600 meters in Pla de Masella. A total of 935 meters that make Masella the resort with the most unevenness in the eastern Pyrenees !

 

On the other hand, the accesses to the resort are very well indicated, and moving along the slopes is an easy task with a total of 17 lifts; Chairlifts, cable lifts and tapes . There is everything!

 

And if you like different experiences, you cannot miss the appointment on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and holidays at night. Masella offers the option to practice   night skiing. Up to a total of 13 slopes (4 red, 6 blue and 3 green) that represent a total of 10 skiable kilometers, in addition to the snowpark, are open to all those who want to descend the mountainside while watching the sunset .

What services does Masella offer?

 

Right next to the Masella information point, in Pla de Masella, you can find the ski resort shop . There, in addition to finding a great variety of equipment related to the world of skiing for sale, you can make use of the ski equipment rental service.

 

From snowboards to telemark skis to practice this extreme modality. You will find everything in the store! If you have your own ski equipment but in poor condition, they also offer a ski and snow repair service.

 

And if you are traveling as a family, you can leave the little ones at home in the Jardí de Neu , aimed at children between 3 and 6 years old. There they can learn to ski and have a great time in a different environment. The little ones, from 18 months to 3 years old, can stay at the Caseta dels Nens . All the facilities of the ski resort guarantee the safety and comfort of the little ones.

 

The Masella ski school offers individual and group lessons . In the case of hiring the service to learn with more people, don't worry! The groups are all of the same level and are no more than 8 people to ensure greater personalization and attention to all skiers.

 

Regarding restoration, there are   more than 5 restaurants / bars spread throughout the ski resort for all tastes. From table service, to self-service and even a stand that sells crêpes! Masella resort has free Wi-Fi in all its restaurant points. While eating or taking a break, you can connect with your mobile and share photos and comments about your snow experience with your friends.

 

How to get to Masella?

 

Masella is approximately 2 hours from Girona and Barcelona airports. In addition, the accesses are comfortable and safe. Here's a tip: you can cross the Cadi Tunnel by paying € 12 and save time, since this way you won't have to go around the mountain pass.
