Best ski resorts to ski on the weekends of March

1 VAL THORENS (FRANCE)
2 BOÍ TAÜLL (SPAIN)
3 GRANDVALIRA (ANDORRA)

Long days, low prices and no crowds! March can be one of the best times of the season to go to the mountains. These are some of our favorite resorts where you can ski on the weekends of March ;-)

VAL THORENS (FRANCE)

Val Thorens is the highest resort in Europe, so the snow is super good throughout the month of March ;-)

It belongs to the Les Les 3 Vallées ski area, one of the largest in the world and one of the most prestigious in the French Alps. This extensive ski areahas a vertical drop of 2,160 meters and is made up of eight resorts: Courchevel, La Tania, Méribel, Brides-Les-Bains, Les Menuires, Saint Martin de Belleville, Val Thorens and Orelle.

In this super ski area you can find slopes for all levels. There are so many mythical tracks that it is difficult to single out just one! Some that we fall in love with are: the blue "Peyron" in Orelle, the red "Venturon" in Méribel Mottaret and "Park City" in Courchevel, where you can stop for a hot chocolate at La Cave des Creux or enjoy a drink bubbling on the jet set of Le Cap Horn."

We could not talk about Val Thorens , without talking about the magnificent one: La Folie Douce! One of the most mythical après-ski spaces in the world, invites you to discover an extravagant universe, full of surprises and novelties, dance happily in front of a magnificent landscape and end the day with your eyes lit by the stars...

Off the slopes, be sure to visit Europe's highest bar, The Frog and Roast Beef - grab a drink and dance on the table to celebrate another day in the mountains.

Val Thorens (3 Valleys)

BOÍ TAÜLL (SPAIN)

The Boí Taüll ski resort, nestled in the Vall de Boí and in the Lleida region of Alta Ribagorça, is the highest in the Pyrenees in Spain. Its minimum elevation is 2,020 meters above sea level, in Pla de Vaques, and the maximum, corresponding to the summit of Puig Falcó, at 2,751 m high ;-) Given the altitude at which the resort is, March is still an excellent month to ski!

Its 205 artificial snow cannons also contribute a lot. With slopes for all tastes, it has 45 km spread over 42 marked slopes of all levels: 6 green, 3 blue, 18 red and 15 black. Black gives a lot of room for intermediate and experienced skiers. Long and very wide routes , and with few people in general, allow you to enjoy some wonderful descents with which the adrenaline is triggered. Calmer, but also of considerable width and length, those of the 9 easy slopes that the resort has will delight skiers with less experience.

To finish and once the getaways are not just skiing, the Boí Valley was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and has a set of 8 Romanesque churches and a hermitage, the result of the activity of craftsmen and master builders. there was in the area in the High Middle Ages (10th to 12th centuries).

More than enough reasons to escape to Boí , on one of the weekends in March ;-)

Boí Taüll (Catalan Pyrenees)

GRANDVALIRA (ANDORRA)

Grandvalira never disappoints ;-)

You probably already know that it has 7 ski areas , all linked to each other: Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, Peretol, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa. Pas is the oldest ski area of Grandvalira, founded in 1956. The first gondola that was installed was powered by a truck engine and the founder of the resort was a pioneer in the world of snow at the time! Very curious indeed ;-)

As of today, Grandvalira has OPEN 199 of its 210 km of skiable terrain! For this, the last snowfalls and the great work of the field technical teams contributed a lot ;-)

So we can say that March will continue to be a great month to ski in Grandvalira ! As points of maximum interest we find: o The Andorra Mountain Music Winter, with the performances of TIMMY TRUMPET on March 5 and DIMITRI VEGAS & LIKE MIKE on March 12 and of course the 2022 EUROPE CUP FINALS. The Avet and Àliga slopes will once again test skiers with the most projection on the international scene ;-)
