Astún is working on the installation of a new ski lift that will be called Prado Blanco 3, since it will run practically parallel to the other two lifts of the same type and name.

The future ski lift will be located at an altitude of 2,000 meters, in a middle area of the ski resort, and will run along the side of the slope called Prado Blanco. On its way, it will cross the Cima Raca chairlift, crossing it through bollards numbers 11 and 12 of this lift.

Astún prepares the installation of the new Prado Blanco 3 chairlift.

This new lift is of the "Téléski à enrouleur" model, which is a more compact type of chairlift, whose redirection is done from the very arrival of the skiers. In addition, the bindings are of the disc type, held in place by a steel cable that is reeled in once the skier disembarks. This allows for greater travel comfort, and the cable line is freer of elements when there is no user.

According to the Desde Jaca forum, this future lift will be necessary when the new gondola lift linking the two ski resorts of Astún and Candanchú is finished, as it will serve to connect the two ski lifts Prado Blanco I and II with the arrival of the cabin.

Another user also assures that beginners will be able to take advantage of it to receive lessons or make safe descents when there is no snow on the green slopes at the base of the resort. In this way, they will be able to use the slopes located at elevation 2000, and then, with this future chairlift, go to the arrival of Pastores and go down in the chairlift.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the AXET chairlift has been designed to be easy to assemble and manage, thanks to simplified maintenance. Assembly can be carried out directly by the operator thanks to the delivery of pre-assembled assemblies. Pylon and station structures do not require concrete. They are fixed directly to a system of metal anchors buried in the ground.

One of the main strengths of the AXET range is its winder. Consisting of a spring and a magnetic brake, the winder is light, maintenance-free and reliable.

The installation of this device will mean the access of a new brand in the ski lift market in our country, which is very fragmented in the case of chairlifts, with half a dozen brands present in our resorts, including Doppelmayr and Leitner as the major manufacturers, but also others such as LST, Sunkid and now AXET. In the case of chairlifts, this year in Leitariegos we will see one from Tatralift, which is also making its debut in Spain.
