Great prices for Ski Offers in Europe
Flexible Ski Packages
Available 24/7 - 365 days a year

Do you want to enjoy the highest ski resort in Europe? An incredible paradise where you can ski 365 days a year.

Zermatt is a beautiful ski and snowboard resort located at 1,620 m in the Swiss Alps, at the foot of the Matterhorn or Matterhorn as it is known in German (4478 m), a mountain easily recognizable by its pyramidal shape that stands out among the 38 peaks of more than 4,000 m altitude in this area of the Alps.

The valley of the Matterhorn hosts on its slopes the town of Zermatt, which together with its wooden houses darkened by the years and the sun, forms one of the most spectacular snow landscapes in the world.

This alpine town is located in the German-speaking region of the canton of Valais in southwestern Switzerland, base of the huge ski resort of Zermatt and Breuil-Cervinia.

The entire town of Zermatt is pedestrianized, as the use of cars or vehicles that use fuel is prohibited and only electric cars are allowed.

When arriving at the resort, it is mandatory to park the car in a large car park lot in Täch, forget about it for a few days and take the train that leaves every 20 minutes and after a short ride, arrive at Zermatt station. In this winter resort most hotels offer a free pick-up service at the station.

Why should you ski in Zermatt?

The Matterhorn ski paradise offers you a total of 360 km of slopes of varying degrees of difficulty, 200 km on the Swiss side and 160 km on the Italian side, belonging to the Cervinia/Valtourneche resorts.

The whole of this resort is the Ski Paradise ski area, which can be accessed with the international ski pass.

This extensive ski area has a total lift capacity of 91,907 people/hour, and it offers a wide range of slopes for all tastes, from gentle slopes to spectacular slopes.

The dream becomes reality when from over 4,000m the skis make their way into the valley, crossing glaciers, enjoying spectacular long descents.

Zermatt offers us the Skiline: the online platform for ski lovers from all over the world. This system records the days spent on the slopes of Zermatt in a diagram with the altitude and data of all the descents made. It also allows you to download footage and photos for free and share them with friends. Isn't it great?

Here's an explanation of the Zermatt ski area:

  • Sunegga: Accessed by a modern subway funicular located about a 5-minute walk from the train station. Skiing is between 200 and 3100 m, on sunny slopes of all levels.

  • Gornergrat: It can be accessed from Sunegga, from the Gant area. You will find medium and high level slopes between 2200 and 3400 meters altitude. This area is also accessible from the center of Zermatt (next to the station) with a rack railway that is very slow (takes about 40 min). It is famous all over the world for the extraordinary alpine panoramas that can be seen during the holiday.

  • Klein Matterhorn: The access from Zermatt to Klein Matterhorn, is the most uncomfortable, as the cable car leaves from one end of the village (15 min walk from the center, there is ski-bus). Klein Matterhorn is the largest of the Zermatt areas, with the most attractive and difficult slopes and with the connection to the Italian resort of Cervinia. The slopes here range from 1600 to 3800 m altitude. At the top there is a glacier on which skiing takes place all year round. Throughout the year thousands of tourists take these cable cars to enjoy incredible views of the Matterhorn (Matterhorn) and the glacier and the other peaks, so in Zermatt going up is almost (but only almost) as exciting as going down.

The snow conditions are excellent, since most of the slopes are above 2000 m and many of them even above 2500 m.

Going skiing in Zermatt with kids?

At the Zermatt ski resort, children will have a great time, as it has a mascot called Wölli, a very friendly ram that will accompany children on this adventure.

At the tourist office, all children can pick up drawing equipment s (paper, pencils...) and can dedicate a portrait to Wölli, which will then be exhibited to the public. All particitrousers have a prize!

Throughout the season, Wölli will help children to make their first descents and learn their first skiing techniques.
