The sum of Ordino Arcalis and Grandvalira born GrandvaliraResorts. And it is that Ordino Arcalís integrates fully into Grandvalira, thus taking advantage of synergies with the largest domain in southern Europe. However, the Ordino resort continues in parallel with its commercial activity and offers its own seasonal pass , which includes great advantages. In addition, this year the Tristaina cable car will be launched from the first day, released at the end of December 2018, and that would allow an early opening in the Coma area. Precisely in this area a new red slope called 'El Clot' , 500 m long, is released. Other developments have to do with the enhancement of services , such as the expansion of the private passenger service fleet, or friendlyteam. In addition, there is a leap in quality in communication, with new applications and technological functionalities , the result of integration with Grandvalira. The strong point of the resort, the freeride, will remain an incentive, with the reception, one more year, of a FreerideWorldTour event . In this way, it is expected to reach 210,000 days of skiing . Ordino Arcalís will start a key season on November 16 , if conditions permit. It is expected to be one of the longest in recent years, as the expected closing date is May 3, totaling 170 days of skiing.

The Ordino Arcalís resort integrates fully into the Grandvalira brand. In this way, all ski passes at Grandvalira resort will be valid at Ordino Arcalís, including the seasonal one. Thus, GrandvaliraResorts will add a total of 240 km of slopes , ranking among the first European ski destinations in terms of surface area.

Thanks to this integration a significant change in the brand image will also be appreciated. The corporate color of Ordino Arcalís changes and is now a decline of Grandvalira blue, although more intense, and that symbolizes this union, but maintaining the personality of the most alpine resort par excellence in Andorra .

Ordino Arcalís will take advantage of synergies with Grandvalira to also improve technological aspects, communication, and sales channels. For example, as a result of this integration, the Ordino Arcalís resort launches a new website , a new e-commerce and a much more powerful CRM system. A new own APP is also launched, and within this technological commitment, we must add the new free Wi-Fi system for customers , which will improve service and communications.

In addition, Ordino Arcalís and Grandvalira create MyGrandski , a loyalty club that simplifies the access and consultation that users want to do to the platforms of the resorts, and where multiple actions can be done in relation to the activity of the skier, how to access to Wi-Fi , buy online, track registration , sign up for the newsletter, etc.

Ordino Arcalís season pass

Ordino Arcalís presents this season a new own ski pass , which in addition to giving access to the resort, will allow skiing 4 days in Grandvalira (2 in the case of the Andorra resident pass). These passes will serve for the current season and the physical supports will be preloaded. Another advantage of this pass will be that you will have free access access to SunsetParkPeretolby Henrik Harlaut , and at the resorts of Gavarnie-Gèdre and Hautacam (France). In addition, the subscription of Ordino Arcalís includes invitations to ski in other European and international resorts : 5 days in Verbier (Switzerland), 2 days in NP'Y (France), 1 day in Masella, 3 days in Chapelco (l Argentina).

The incorporation in Grandvalira will also lead to very beneficial changes for Arcalís skiers. Thus, multidia ski passes will be marketed that will combine ski days in Ordino Arcalís with days in Grandvalira .

On the other hand, the seasonal pass "Valles del Nort" , both for residents and for the general public, will be valid only for the winter, contemplates the use of the facilities of the two resorts of the Northern Valleys : Ordino Arcalís, in Ordino, and Vallnord Pal - Arinsal, in La Massana.

The private transport service with vans continues to grow and this year the resort will have 10 vans , for the exclusive transport service of customers staying in hotels and country aparthotels. It is a service very well valued by customers who choose the comfort of traveling to the resort without having to drive their vehicle.

Tristaina cable car, open since the beginning of the season

The Tristaina gondola, which joins the base of the resort with the Coma, will open from the beginning of the season giving uninterrupted service for 5 and a half months , if conditions permit. After the great reception that the ski lift has had during its first summer season 2019 (about 40,000 people), the cable car will facilitate the opening of the Coma area, the place of the resort where more snow thickness accumulates .

In this way, and thanks to the cable car, Ordino Arcalís will be able to open this area of the resort by offering part of the ski area as a small independent resort, which translates into the possibility of an early opening. The goal is that the resort can add 170 days of skiing , which added to the 80 of the summer, make the number of days that the resort is operational during the year amount to 250, 70% of the total days of the year.

New Red Clot El Clot

The new Clot track , about 500 meters long, is located at the intersection between the Balma (red) and the Coma (blue). From this season on, this red slope will be marked and stepped on daily, and will allow one more alternative in this area. The slope is designed to provide more ground to expert skiers , and to distribute skiers to the sunniest area of the resort, the Coma.

Other developments in the field are, on the one hand, the expansion of the thematic area of Ordino Arcalís, the Agustina park. One more tunnel is added, a new module of eight meters under the snow , which ensures the fun of the whole family. On the other, the Las Canales slope has new protection systems to adapt it to the approvals required by the FIS and also has new booths at the exit.

Restoration

Continuing with the renovation of the facilities, this season the restaurant IlPizzo del Hortell will have a new image . It is reformed to give it a more mountain character, in accordance with the spirit of Ordino Arcalís.

The restoration of Ordino Arcalís has boosted in recent years the consumption and use of Andorran or proximity products. The objective is for the Andorran product usage figure to reach 75%. The involvement of the resort with the continuity of environmental policies for reducing packaging must be highlighted. Thus, 100% of beer glasses are reusable and strong commitment is made to this path of reduction of single-dose containers, launched last year and which had a great reception.

An agreement has been reached this year with CleanWave.org, an association dedicated to the fight for the reduction of disposable plastics and the cleaning of the Mediterranean islands. Framed in this action, the reduction of the consumption of plastics is enhanced with the sale of refillable bottles with filtered water from the mountains of Arcalís .

FreerideWorldTour

One more year and now six, Ordino Arcalís will receive the third test of the main freeride world competition, the FreerideWorldTour . The Andorran stage in Arcalís will mean the equator of the competition. In parallel, and coinciding with the dates of the elite competition, a Freeride Junior Tour will take place, which will be led by the FreerideWorldTour organization.
